The Day that Changed the Fearful

May 4, 2025    Dr. Steve Rice

In this powerful exploration of John 20, we're reminded of the transformative power of Christ's resurrection. The disciples, huddled in fear behind locked doors, represent our own moments of uncertainty and doubt. Yet, even in their fear, they were on the cusp of incredible possibilities. This narrative challenges us to recognize the pregnant moments in our own lives, where God's promises are about to unfold. The sudden appearance of Jesus among them, offering peace, beautifully illustrates how Christ meets us in our darkest hours. His words, 'Peace be with you,' resonate deeply, reminding us that true peace comes not from our circumstances, but from His presence. As we reflect on this, we're invited to consider: Where in our lives do we need to experience Christ's peace? How can we open ourselves to the possibilities God has for us, even in moments of fear?
