Dr. John A. Lucas
John grew up in Pikeville and experienced his call to ministry as a member of First Baptist Church. In 2009 he, his wife and three children came back to his hometown with a passion to make disciples and reach Eastern Kentucky for Christ. John first served as student pastor, and has led the church as Senior Pastor since 2015. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University.
As a native of Pike County, Jason also experienced his call to ministry as a member of First Baptist Church. He has served as a Senior Pastor and Education Pastor in other Kentucky Baptist churches, and has served FBC in an administrative and consultant role since 2015. In addition to his role at FBC, Jason also serves as the Associational Mission Strategist for the Pike Association of Southern Baptists. He and his wife have two sons. Jason received his Masters of Divinity in Missions and Evangelism from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Associate Pastor of Worship and Media
Originally from Tennessee, Matthew has spent more than a decade leading worship in Kentucky Baptist churches. Matthew and his wife and two children answered the call to Pikeville in January of 2018. He is passionate about leading the church in gospel-centered worship and singing. Matthew received his Bachelors degree and Masters of Divinity in Worship Leadership from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
Associate Pastor of Students and Missions
As a young man, Keenan began a career as an insurance agent. In 2010 he received the call on his life to surrender to full-time ministry and has served in full time student ministry since. He desires to disciple teenagers and instill a passion for Christians to serve Christ by serving others through missions. Keenan received his Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Keenan and his wife, Erica, have 3 daughters and he joined FBC Pikeville's staff August 2021.
Minister to Children
Whitney loves the Lord and children and has dedicated her life to serving both. She has served as Children's Minister at FBC Pikeville since 2005. Her commitment to the gospel and to sharing it with kids is evident in all she does. Whitney earned her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and her Masters of Arts in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. She and her husband Chris have one son.
