Pastors & Staff

Pastor Shawn was called to Pikeville in 2025 after serving churches in his home state of Virginia and Kentucky. He earned a B.S. in Physical Education at Roanoke College; Master of Divinity, with languages at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary; and a Doctorate of Ministry in Church Revitalization at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Sarah, are blessed with Franklin, Isabella, Parker, and a dog Jeter. They are rabid fans of the University of Virginia, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Yankees. They also cheer on the local teams UK, Cincinnati and Bengals & Reds.

Originally from Tennessee, Matthew has spent more than a decade leading worship in Kentucky Baptist churches.  Matthew and his wife, Rachel, have 5 children, and have been in Pikeville since January of 2018.  He is passionate about leading the church in gospel-centered worship and singing. Matthew received his Bachelors degree and  Masters of Divinity in Worship Leadership from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. 

As a young man, Keenan began a career as an insurance agent. In 2010 he received the call on his life to surrender to full-time ministry and has served in full time student ministry since.  He desires to disciple teenagers and instill a passion for Christians to serve Christ by serving others through  missions. Keenan received his Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Keenan and his wife, Erica, have 3 daughters and he joined FBC Pikeville's staff August 2021.
